FRANCIS SCOTT KEY LIONS CLUB SAYS THANK YOU 20170818
The Francis Scott Key Lions Club thanks the Frederick community for supporting our annual yard sale fundraiser on Saturday 8/19/2017. By helping to make this event a success, you helped us raise funds to allow us to continue to help local and Lions charities, including Leader Dog, Special Olympics, and the Lions Vision Research Center at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins. The Francis Scott Key Lions Club is one of many Lions Clubs in the Frederick County area who give back to the community by providing eyeglasses, preschool vision screenings, supporting East Frederick Little League and North Frederick Elementary School, planting trees, and much more. A special thank-you to the patrons who also donated goods for the Frederick Food Bank; you showed your big hearts by declining the 20% discount accorded you for your donations.
Lions Clubs International, celebrating its centennial this year, is the world’s largest service club organization with almost 1.45 million members in approximately 47,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. Since 1917, Lions Clubs have assisted the blind and visually impaired and made a strong commitment to community service and serving youth throughout the world. Lions Clubs are comprised of individuals who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. If you want to help your community and have a roaring good time doing it, please consider joining the FSK Lions Club, which has been serving the Frederick community since 1959 and meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Barbara Fritchie Candystick Restaurant, 1513 West Patrick Street, Frederick, with the social starting at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. For reservations, contact Secretary John Aulls at 301/662-2360.
