What says Christmas and other winter holidays like the smiles of children? Continuing their service to children in our community, Francis Scott Key Lions Club members decided to forgo a gift exchange this year and, instead, provide gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, and other warm clothing items to students at their “adopted” schools of Hillcrest and North Frederick Elementary Schools. With additional donations provided by the Frederick Business & Professional Women’s Club, Lions members recently presented two bags of items to each school.

Shown are (all names indicated L-R): Frederick BPW co-president Alice Houck presenting donations to Lion President Paul Gray;
North Frederick Elementary School Community Liaison Dottie Moss and Principal DeVeda Coley and FSK Lions President Paul Gray, Second Vice-president Toni Gray, Director Lynn Stimmel, and Treasurer Darlene Aulls with some of the donated items (not shown, FSK Lions Secretary John Aulls and Assistant Principal Karl Williams);
Hillcrest Elementary School Community Liaisons Norma Claro and Janeil Bagley, FSK Lions President Paul Gray, Hillcrest Principal Kimberly Seiss and Assistant Principal Amy Routzahn, and kneeling in front, FSK Lions Second Vice-president Toni Gray with some of the donated items (not shown, Director Lynn Stimmel and Assistant Principal Marilyn Mathews).

The FSK Lions meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Barbara Fritchie Candystick Restaurant, 1513 West Patrick Street, Frederick. For additional information on the FSK Lions or on becoming a Lion, visit www.fsklions.org or contact Membership Chairman Darlene Aulls at 301/662-2360.
