The Francis Scott Key Lions Club will hold a fundraiser for Leader Dogs for the Blind at Texas Roadhouse, 5101 Pegasus Court, Frederick, on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 3 to 10 p.m. Just present the event invitation at that location and Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of your total food purchases to the fundraiser. Leader Dogs for the Blind was founded in 1939 by three Detroit-area Lions; their programs empower the blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind by providing them with the skills needed to travel independently. Programs—including guide-dog, deaf-blind guide dog, accelerated orientation and mobility, and GPS training, and a summer experience camp for teens—are offered at their Rochester Hills, Michigan, campus. All programs are offered free of charge to the recipient with Leader Dogs for the Blind paying for travel expenses (within North America), room and board, and equipment costs.
