DG Croft stated that International President Douglas Alexander’s theme is “Service From the Heart,” indicating that Lions do service with love and compassion around the world and that Lions give, expecting nothing in return, but gain much from it. LCI’s global priorities this year are: membership growth and recruitment (strive to engage every member), supporting our Foundation (which, since inception, has distributed over $1.1 billion), compassionate service, and communication.

In District 22W, our theme is Lions Helping Others–A Celebration of Service. Members are the key to our success; he is hoping for a net gain of 10 this year. Additional leadership training opportunities will be offered; a goal is for 50% of club leaders complete some type of training. Leadership roles must be filled in the clubs and at the district level. The District’s LCIF goal is this is $60,000. He applauded our club’s Facebook page, noting that it is current, and urged us to celebrate our accomplishments within our club and with the community. He asked us to consider, If our club wasn’t here, what would the community do?
