The Francis Scott Key Lions Club recently collected over $300 in donations for Blessings in a Backpack, an organization whose mission is to provide local children, who rely on the federal free and reduced meal program as their primary source of food during the week, with food for the weekends so they are not hungry when they return to school the following week. Funds raised will provide weekend meals for three children for the coming year.
